Is Linktree worth paying for in 2026?
Last checked Oct 26 2026. Linktree changes its plans often, so check linktr.ee/s/pricing before you pay.
TL;DR
- Stay on Free if you share a plain list of links and can live with 28 days of analytics and a Linktree label on the page.
- Pay for Linktree if you sell digital products or courses through it, want Instagram auto-replies, or need a year or more of analytics and email tools.
- You may not need a link in bio at all if you have five stable links and only use Instagram. Instagram has allowed five links since April 2023.
The short answer
For most people with a simple list of links, no, Linktree is not worth paying for. The Free plan has unlimited links. You pay when you want to remove the Linktree branding, keep more than 28 days of analytics, or sell and automate through it. If you do those things, Linktree's paid plans do real work that cheaper tools do not.
Who this is for
You made a Linktree, it works, and now it keeps asking you to upgrade. The question is whether the next step is worth about $72 to $360 a year. This post lists what each plan adds, what it costs, what the sales fee story is, and when to leave the money in your pocket.
It uses Linktree's own pricing page and help center, with USD prices taken from roundups that checked the live page in October 2026. Linktree shows prices in local currency, so yours may differ.
What the Free plan gives you
Linktree Free costs $0 and has no time limit. It gives you unlimited basic links and email and phone sign-ups. Linktree's pricing page labels it "free with restrictions."
The restrictions that matter, from Linktree's help center (updated Oct 26 2026):
- Analytics history: the last 28 days.
- Featured links: 1.
- Instagram auto-reply DMs: up to 1,000 a month.
- Ads: Linktree has a help article about ads on Free Linktrees, and says visitors never see ads on a paid Linktree.
- Linktree logo: it stays on the page. Hiding it starts on Pro.
If those do not bother you, Free is enough.
What each paid plan adds
Prices below are the USD figures reported by roundups that checked Linktree's page on Oct 10 to Oct 20 2026. The first number is billed annually, the second is monthly.
| Plan | Price per month | What it adds (from Linktree's pricing page and help center) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Unlimited basic links. 28 days of analytics |
| Starter | $6 billed annually, $8 monthly | A personalized Linktree, unlimited featured links, 90 days of analytics, 1,500 Instagram auto-reply DMs a month, no ads |
| Pro | $12 billed annually, $15 monthly | Hide the Linktree logo, custom designs, mailing list integrations, Meta Pixel and Google Analytics, custom page title and description, 365 days of analytics, selling digital products and courses, 2,500 auto-reply DMs a month. 7-day free trial |
| Premium | $30 billed annually, $35 monthly | Link rules and routing, AI tools, all-time analytics with CSV download, social scheduling, unlimited auto-replies, extra admins. 7-day free trial |
What does Linktree cost over a year?
If you pay annually, Starter is about $72 a year, Pro about $144, and Premium about $360. Month by month the same plans come to about $96, $180 and $420.
If you pay, annual billing is cheaper. The saving is $24, $36 and $60 a year. The catch is that you commit up front. Pro and Premium have a 7-day free trial.
Does Linktree take a cut of your sales?
Yes, in some form. Linktree's help center says two kinds of fees apply when you sell through it:
- A Linktree fee, which depends on your plan.
- A Stripe processing fee, which is typically 2.9% plus $0.30 per sale, on every plan. Partner earnings carry $0.25 per payout.
The part that is not clear is the percentage. Earlier Linktree help pages and several roundups listed 12% on Free, 9% on Starter and Pro, and 0% on Premium. Linktree's pricing page now shows "Sell and earn with 0% fees" on the Pro card, and its help center now says selling digital products is on Pro and Premium. Its pages do not agree with each other. We did not find one consistent number, so we do not put one here. Check the fee for your plan before you set a price.
Selling is also limited by country. Linktree's help center says selling digital products is only available in certain countries.
Do you still need a link in bio now that Instagram allows 5 links?
Not always. Instagram has let people add up to five links to a profile since April 2023, according to Engadget's report on the change. You add them under Edit profile, then Links.
You can skip a link in bio tool if:
- You have five links or fewer, and they rarely change.
- Instagram is the only place you share them.
- You do not need to know which link gets tapped.
You still want one page if:
- You change your links every week and would rather edit one page than the Instagram app.
- You share the same links on TikTok, X, YouTube or an email signature, where you only get one link.
- You want click numbers per link.
Our Instagram bio link guide has the tap-by-tap steps.
When Linktree is worth paying for
Pay if one of these is true:
- You sell digital products or courses on Linktree. Selling is a Pro and Premium feature, and the checkout is built in. If your buyers already pay on Linktree, moving has a cost.
- You use Instagram auto-replies. Higher plans raise the monthly limit from 1,000 to 2,500 to unlimited.
- You want email list tools. Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Kit, beehiiv, Flodesk and Google Sheets sync is listed from Pro.
- You need a year or more of analytics and a CSV. 365 days is Pro. All-time analytics and the CSV are Premium.
- Your audience already knows the linktr.ee address. Changing it has a cost.
When it is not
Skip the upgrade if:
- You mostly want to remove the logo. That is Pro, which is $144 a year on annual billing, and it also comes with features you may not use.
- You send people to a shop that already handles checkout. You do not need Linktree's selling tools.
- You only share a handful of links.
Cheaper ways to get the same basics
If you are paying mainly for a cleaner page and better analytics, other tools cover that for less. Some are free. All have trade-offs.
- own.page has a free plan and a Pro plan at $79.90 a year. See Page vs own.page.
- OneLink is $4.99 once. See Page vs OneLink.
- One-time payment tools are listed with their prices on our link in bio one-time payment guide.
And Page (yourspage.com), the tool this blog belongs to, costs $5.99 a month, $49 a year, or $149 once. Every plan is the same page, with a removable footer badge and full click history with a CSV download, and Page says it never takes a cut of what you sell. It is a smaller product than Linktree. It has no checkout, courses, bookings or Instagram auto-replies, and there is no free published plan, though building a draft is free. See Page vs Linktree for the full table, and link in bio for freelancers if you send one link to clients.
Conclusion
Do not pay for Linktree just because the upgrade button is there. Stay on Free if you share a list. Pay for Pro if you sell on it, want email tools, or need a year of analytics. Pay for Premium only if you need all-time data, the CSV and the automation. If none of that is you, a cheaper tool may do the job. Before you decide, look at what you actually click on in your Linktree insights for the past 28 days.
